The Growers Market is community in action!
A Vibrant Tradition of Fresh, Local Goods
For our growers and artisans, farming and crafting are more than just professions—they’re a way of life. For our customers, it’s a sensory celebration as they wander through the market. The air is filled with the fragrant notes of spicy petunias, roses, rosemary, thyme, and lavender. You’ll find the sweetness of fresh peaches, the juiciness of ripe tomatoes, the rich aroma of brewing coffee, and the tempting sizzle of donuts frying. Handcrafted wind chimes, fragrant soaps, fresh eggs, specialty breads, decadent cakes, pies, honey, and organic beef add to the market’s charm. We also feature a variety of artisans, with works in silver, oils, stained glass, tapestries, yarn, and wood.
Our vendors travel from all corners of Southern Oregon, including Medford, Butte Falls, Winston, Canyonville, Gold Hill, Roseburg, Ashland, the Illinois Valley, and even the Oregon Coast, bringing their goods to the market.
Since its founding in 1980, the Grants Pass Growers Market has been a Saturday morning tradition, offering a diverse array of locally grown fruits, vegetables, plants, baked goods, specialty foods, and gourmet herbs and seasonings. As the oldest and largest outdoor farmers market in Southern Oregon, it has played a pivotal role in connecting farmers directly with their customers, supporting the community, and fostering local agricultural success.
At the Growers Market, you’ll find the freshest, ripest fruits and vegetables grown within 100 miles of Grants Pass. From asparagus to zucchini, the selection is always evolving, ensuring there’s something new to discover each week. In peak season, more than 120 vendors participate, welcoming between 300 and 5,000 customers. We’re also proud to host local non-profit organizations, including The Humane Society, The Women's Crisis Support Team, AAUW Kitchen Tour, 4-H & FFA, The Audubon Society, Master Gardeners, and local school fundraisers. When space allows, we feature live music from talented local performers.
While we embrace tradition and community spirit, we maintain a policy of respect and neutrality by excluding political and religious advocacy from the market. Please remember that pets are not allowed, though service dogs are always welcome.
Come experience the bounty of our region, shared by friends, families, and neighbors!
Who We Are
We are the Southern Oregon Growers Association (SOGA), a collective of farmers, nursery growers, and small business owners committed to producing a wide range of local products. As a non-profit, membership-based organization, our members are the very vendors who participate in the Growers Market. Participation is exclusive to agricultural products grown within the Southern Oregon and Northern California bio-region, along with selected handmade crafts and foods from the same area. Our motto is "We grow what we sell," and resale is strictly prohibited. The Board of Directors (BOD) carefully reviews all non-agricultural products for quality, style, and craftsmanship before they’re accepted into the market.
SOGA is governed by a 9-member BOD, with 3 members elected annually by our membership. The BOD sets market policies and oversees operations.
The Growers Market: Community in Action
The Grants Pass Growers Market is more than just a marketplace—it’s a cornerstone of our community. Beyond bringing together farmers and shoppers, the market has a long history of giving back, engaging in tourism initiatives, economic development, and small business programs. We are proud partners of OSU’s Small Farms programs and actively support agri-tourism opportunities for local farmers. We also connect farmers to vital programs like “Farm to School,” and serve as a networking hub for wholesale buyers.
As leaders in the local fresh foods movement, we believe farm-fresh food is always the healthiest. Our market played a crucial role in piloting the WIC coupon program now used across Oregon and continues to accept WIC and Senior Coupons, as well as SNAP/EBT benefits nationwide. Our friendly staff and volunteers are always on hand to assist customers. For more information, visit our Information Booth.
