Emotional support dogs and puppies in training are NOT service animals. Service animals are trained to provide life saving actions for their partner. The Growers Market has a NO PETS policy. This policy is in place for food safety, vendor safety, and the safety of customers and children.

People that love and own dogs are often unaware of how their pet's presence creates discomfort for other people. Having been a dog owner for many years, I completely understand a dog owner's desire to have their pet with them as frequently as possible - including coming to Growers' Market. Growers' Market policy regarding dogs is SERVICE DOGS ONLY! Pets, comfort dogs and therapy dogs are NOT allowed.
The Growers' Market tried accomodating dog owners in the past and the results were disasterous with dog fights and other bad dog behavior. For those reasons, the management inplemented a NO DOGS policy. But the ADA (Americans with Diabilities Act) enacted rules that grants SERVICE DOGS special status and we amended our rules to abide that law. To the left is the Official notice regarding Service Dogs. Please read it carefully and take the points seriously. Imposters (people trying to pass off their pets a service dogs is a crime and can be prosecuted). Below is more information regarding service dogs and rules governing businesses that serve the public. Businesses have a responibility to accomodate people with disabilities and disabled persons have a responsibility to act civilly when confronted about the status of their dog. Know the law and respect the rights of others. More below...... |

Service Dogs in training
Please, let's NOT go there! Train your "service dog" somewhere else. A "service dog" in training that has not yet completed training is not allowed. See Q6 in link button below "Learn More".
Generally speaking vests, tags, IDs or other devices to inform the public that your dog is a "service dog" are not required. Save the $30, your pup's vest is not required. See Q8 in link button below "Learn More". |
